Our Anniversay

I know I am about a week late on posting what we did for our anniversary.... oh well, that's just how it goes.

Britt had to attend a meeting for a committee he is on, so we stayed in town this year which worked out great. Sometimes it's nice to just enjoy time together as a family at home. So when he came home he had a dozen red roses for me.... which were beautiful, actually they still are beautiful. We had a great lunch at Charley Clarks (so much for my diet... haha) After lunch we decided to go get the kids and walk around the Rim. We all enjoyed the walk, it was a bit windy but it's March and that's to be expected. Then we decided we would go home and take a nap. Well I laid down for about two minutes then decided I would clean up the house so it would be nice for Sunday, so that's what I did. Then I finished up my lesson for Relief Society (after I realized it was ward conference and I wasn't teaching... nice) Britt was still sleeping, so I tried to get him up in time for the movie, but I put it off too long and we missed it. So we got some dinner, came home and put the kids to bed and watched a movie at home. It was great! I loved spending the day together as a family. Honestly, I think that is how every Saturday should be (flowers included).

After 12 years we are happy and we have a beautiful family together. What more could I possibly ask for?

Happy Anniversay

Pullin Family
est. March 13, 1998

I have to say we have had our ups and downs. Neither one of us is perfect (especially me) but it has been wonderful. I can't believe we've been married for 12 years! So in honor of our 12 years together here is a list of some of our adventures:

1 We bought our first house

2 Our first anniversary we went to Tucson, and fed the ostriches on the way. If you want a good laugh ask Britt to show you the video of me trying to do it...... hilarious!

3 McKenzie was born

4 Britt was in St. Louis for training and Kyle was born almost 3 weeks early (good thing my mom stayed with me, otherwise I would have had Kyle by myself and 17 month old Kenzie would have been in the waiting room)

5 We went to St. Louis for the summer right after Ky was born (ask Shauna how she liked that)

6 We went to Disneyland on Kyle's first birthday! But Kenzie and Ky liked the beach better.

7 We went to Disneyland with Mom and Dad Pullin, Brent and Megan while I was prego with Gabrielle

8 Gabrielle joined our family.

9 Britt took me to Vegas as a surprise for our anniversary/birthdays (thank you Lisa for making that trip possible by taking our kiddies)

10 Lisa took our kids a hand full of times while I went to all sorts of conferences with Britt

11 More hugs and kisses then I ever thought was possible.

12 And most importantly, each day we have together as a family.

We may not have it all together
but together we have it all.

More snow... Seriously?

I know you all have heard it, felt it, and are tired of it too but I just have to say it aloud (well actually type it out) I AM TIRED OF THE SNOW!! Whew! I feel better, thanks. I was getting so excited for the sun to come out, I was willing to take the wind with the sun. Spring was officially on it's way..... but then I remembered. We live in Lakeside, and it has snowed every March since we moved here. I have to admit the first year we were here (that is when it snowed 4 FEET in one storm) that March was the worst.
I have heard reports that the weather should be great next week..... please let that be true. My flip flops are tired of getting snow all over them and my capris would like to see the light of day. Little League season is fast approaching and I would like to not be a popsicle while watching games/practices.
Spring is my favorite season, so I get anxious for the arrival of daffodils, tulips, then the colorful flowers in my garden and flower pots. So I am asking all of you who live in warmer climates.... send us warm thoughts, send us your sun, and send us all your love (because we all know that it's really love that makes us feel warm).
Oh yeah.... have a great day and drive safe, there's snow on the streets. Love ya all!

Girls

This is their first day of school in second grade
(this is the only picture I could find on my computer,
I have others they just haven't been scanned)

Now, for a post that's opposite of the last one....

McKenzie and her friend, Ryleigh had a
sleepover last night.
They are soo cute together.
I am glad that they are friends.
They have literally been together since birth.
Ryleigh is the sweetest little girl!
(btw... she is not the girl from my last post)

They had fun playing in the snow, playing computer games,
baking cookies, listening/dancing to music, watching a movie,
singing with the karaoke machine, laughing, talking, etc., etc.

If all of my kids friends were as nice as her
(and if my kids can be as nice as her too)
I would be a very happy mommy!!

Update

I hope no one has a heart attack seeing that I have actually updated this blog. It has been way toooooo long since my last post. So here is just a quick update, I will do a more detailed closer to the end of the year.

McKenzie is in fourth grade and is loving her teacher. She is doing awesome this year! Second and third grade were tough ones for her, but she has found her niche and is really progressing this year. Thank you Mrs. Heggen!!!! Kenzie has also really started to mature and I can't believe how much she has grown up in the last couple years. I am so proud of her effort at school!

Kyle is in third grade and is doing great! He is in the Horizons program and loves it. He stays after school on Tuesdays to help with a newspaper they are doing, and he is over writing the jokes for the paper (no surprise there). He plays soccer everyday during recess and I have been told that him and his friends don't play tetherball because they all "suck" at it. Funny little boys.

Elle is finally in kindergarten! She was so excited to start but came home on her first day so disappointed because she wanted to learn how to read that first day. Well we reassured her that she would start reading soon. Now she has started reading and she is doing wonderful! Mrs. Spangrud is so sweet to all her "kindergarten friends" (that's what she calls all of the kids in her class) Elle loves going to school each day.

Britt is still working hard at the school, writing his thesis for his masters, and coaching the freshman basketball team. If you want to know more about that ask him, I don't see him enough to give any more information.... hahaha

As for me, I have cut back my hours at the shop to just Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mondays I spend at the schools helping in each of my kids classrooms, and one of these days I will enjoy my Fridays at home catching up on the housework so far that hasn't happened.

Well I better get going, it's a snow day here and I need to get my kids in from the snow to warm up a bit. Also, I have the joy of baking 3 1/2 dozen gingerbread cookies for Elle's class. I better get baking!

Summer 2009

WOW! I have not posted in so long. I am sorry and the only excuse I have is little league. Those of you that have or had multiple children in little league understand what I am talking about. So to give you all a quick run down of what we have been up to this summer I will start from May.
May 2009
Well my sweet husband surprised me for my birthday and arranged for me to go on a cruise with my mom, Lisa, and Kaylee for Kaylee's graduation.  That was sooo fun!

June 2009
Then Kyle turned 8!! Holy Cow! so in June we had his baptism. It was so special, most of our family was able to come up to attend and we had a great time together. (I would love to post pictures, however, my husband uploaded them to his computer and hasn't sent any my way yet. I will post them when I get some.) Oh, and Kyle was given his first pocket knife by Grandpa and that very same day he cut his finger so deep that I had to take him in for stitches. Nothing like making special memories and having a scar to always remind you of them.... heehee

All this time we were going crazy making it to all three of our children's tee-ball, baseball, and softball games and practices. Elle had a blast this year in tee-ball, Kyle can't wait until baseball starts back up for him and well, Kenzie is still going. She made it on the all-star team and on Saturday her team won the District Championship. The good news is we get to spend some time with Grandma and Aunt Shauna, bad new is that she plays Monday thru Thursday down in 110 degree heat.  But she is extremely excited and her confidence is building everyday!

July 2009
Then for the Fourth of July, all of Britt's brothers and sisters were able to come up for the weekend. We had a blast going to the parade, having a BBQ, then going to the fireworks.
This is pretty much all I saw of my girls that day (sitting on the curb watching the parade) and Kyle was off the entire time playing with Jayton. They looked so cute I wanted to get a picture of them together but there was too much fun to be had.  Oh well!

Oh and I almost forgot we added two puppies to the mix! We went to the Humane Society looking for one dog and came home with a brother and sister. We named them Baxter and Elsie. Then we got to looking a bit closer and noticed that "things" looked the same and sure enough they were and we actually ended up with two sisters, so we renamed Baxter Roxy. Poor gender-confused puppy :(  Our kiddos love them and have been great about helping with the care of them.
You can't really see it in this picture but both puppies have pretty light blue eyes. That's what keeps us from giving them away when they do annoying things... hahaha

I know this post is not very detailed, but the weeks have flown by and I can't seem to remember what or when anything happened. Hopefully I will be able to get back into the swing of things with my blog.  If not, you can always see what's going on with me on Facebook...... heehee!
